This Christian Adaption starts in a small southern town in Indiana where things haven't really progressed in the past sixty years. In this town racial slurs, murder, and lack of justice are all permitted as long the black man is still at the bottom. The reason this town is still unexploited is because it is home to one of the most intelligent private schools in the nation, Hill Private School. With an exception of the seven percent of students that actually are accepted there no one gets in, but there are two of another ethnicity that do manage to get accepted into the school there freshmen year.
Achilles Brown, who is originally from Manchester has come to this school seeking a chance to get into one of the best colleges in the world after graduating from high school. Melody Lann has lived in that town her whole life, and only seeks to get away from it all so that she could live a normal life. Join these friends through the real, and the seemingly unreal challenges they have to face in life, and in death. Heaven and Hell is a suspenseful-thriller that will have your heart pacing page after page. Read as this dark reality mixes in with the supernatural forces that have been around us for all time.

ReplyDeleteHonestly the story premise seems a bit convoluted. I do like a good mystery...or is it a thriller? Wait the first line says it's a comedy. I think you get my point. You're presenting way too many themes all at the same time. If it's a comedy than the premises should reflect that concept. Right now it reads like a suspenseful thriller type book.
ReplyDeleteThe title is what made me ask about the book, and the image that you have is beautiful, however, after reading the description, I don't feel that it fits the story you're trying to sell.
Just remember, the average book synopsis is 250-ish words. So you have to focus on what you need to say that will get the person to buy the book. Ummm...what was the advice I was given back when I was trying to write those damn blurbs....oh yeah.
"Sell the setting, not the story." Kind of backwards, I know. I used 150-200 words for setting blurb, and 50-100 to give a basic idea of what the story is about. It's helped a lot.
Thanks for your advice. I knew I couldn't rely on a normal person advice, and you described it better than I did. For now I'm going to trust you and focus on the setting more. To be honest, it's pretty hard since the story's setting changes a lot, but I think I can do it if I try hard enough. Thank you once again, and there will be change from this.
